Job Description

Job title: Electrical Designer

Location: Toronto

Salary: CAD $90k – CAD $110k 

Here at Oakmont we are working with a company that creates data driven solutions for construction. Constructors of all types and sizes use monitoring data from our hardware and software to build their projects faster, safer and more sustainably. With an office of 40+ they are looking for an Electrical Designer to join their team and change the face of one of the biggest industries on Earth.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferably in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum of five years, relevant post secondary design experience with microcontrollers, power, digital, and analog circuit design
  • End-to-end design experience for production/manufacturing is an asset
  • Solid knowledge of Altium Designer or similar tools
  • Knowledge of RF is an asset
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to design and systems is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience using standard electrical test tools including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, SMT soldering
  • Experience with task management and revision control tools such as Jira and Git are an asset
  • Ability to communicate technical details with various internal/external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on action items, according to a schedule
  • Ability to communicate with 3rd-party vendors to source and select parts In this role you will be tasked to:
  • Produce detailed design deliverables, including layouts, schematics and BOMs for both new and existing products
  • Develop automated test fixtures to scale our in-house production lines
  • Resolve design issues as they are identified during production and customer trials
  • Optimize designs by sourcing and selecting parts
  • Test and validate your own design
  • Develop internal and external documentation
