Senior Software Test Engineer 

Salary: D.O.E

Location: Partial remote OR Bristol based

Experience: 5 years minimum

My client is a global leader in the energy monitoring and management sector.

The role:

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated and passionate, experienced software test engineer with a good understanding of testing embedded Perl, Linux operating systems and hardware. General knowledge of systems such as Jenkins, VM’s and scripting languages such as Python and Perl for use within the testing environment. Understanding of operating hardware required, such as Serial ports, Ethernet and Bluetooth for example. Along with protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, Modbus, Bacnet and others, testing of which will be required to fulfil the product deployment. Any knowledge of specifying hardware for the testing environment useful to build a complete testing system. Previous knowledge of energy monitoring, Cloud systems, web development and IoT helpful but not essential. Good interpersonal skills that will fit in with this friendly and relaxed workplace. Ideal candidate located in the southwest, for access to Bristol area as and when required. Possibility of remote and flexible working. Career development is supported and encouraged within the team.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain testing platforms for Best.Energy products
• Build automated systems to facilitate regression testing
• Fault-find and bug fix testing environment
• Continuous improvement of working practices and procedures
• Working closely within the Software team and Hardware and Cloud developers
