Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

 

The Opportunity

A fast-growing company partnered with strong financial backing and a team of people with longstanding experience in high technology, enterprise, cloud computing and server markets are currently looking for a new Senior Hardware Engineer to join their Cambridge office.

The position of Senior Hardware Engineer is required to play a key role in the design, development, validation, certification and transfer to production of new hardware designs and to maintain and improve existing designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands on hardware design, development, validation and transfer to production of server class systems based on high-speed application processors and supporting multiple high-speed interfaces
  • Focusing on brand new product development
  • Contribute to the technical definition of products on the technology roadmap
  • Full lifecycle support of their product line
  • Supporting product compliance testing
  • Mentoring of junior engineers

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of ARM, Intel or AMD application processor hardware development experience (32/64bit CPUs)
  • Experience of high-speed interfaces (e.g. Serial ATA, PCI Express, 10G Ethernet)
  • Experience of power and signal integrity analysis and related tools
  • Detailed design review experience
  • Proven ability to clearly define and execute fault-finding at both the board and system level both during development and for support of product in the field.
  • Schematic Capture and PCB Layout (Ideally based on Cadence tools)
  •   Compliance testing experience (FCC, CE, UL)
  • Design for manufacturing and design for test
  •   Hardware board bring up and debugging experience
