My client is an exciting IP company that provides game-changing software and hardware acceleration for 5G mobile communications.

About the Role

  • This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company on the South coast
  • We are seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer with 10+ years of relevant industry experience to contribute to the development of our hardware solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply specialised skills and expertise to enable team to make the successful and timely delivery of projects
  • Provide mentoring to aid the development of junior colleagues
  • Lead the optimisation, synthesis and characterisation of FPGA solutions
  • Support customers in the validation, synthesis and integration of FPGA solutions
  • Design and develop support functionality to target IP solutions to FPGA hardware platforms
  • Develop best practices procedures and design policies to improve IP quality of results.

 Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant field in the industry
  • PCIe and DRAM high-speed interfacing with FPGA
  • Experience of design and implementation of products using AXI4 or Avalon interfaces
  • Experience of developing synthesis and implementation strategies from scratch
  • Optimisation, synthesis, characterisation, validation and integration of FPGA solutions
  • Proficiency in EDA tools (Intel Quartus Pro, Xilinx Vivado and/or Mentor)

Desirable:

  • Experience of porting FPGA designs to ASIC targets
  • Experience of ASIC synthesis and back-end processes
  • Automation (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of communications signal processing algorithms (ideally error correction, equalisation, channel estimation, beamforming or another baseband component)

  • Should have hands-on experience of relevant industry tools, techniques and technology
  • Should be a team player, with an approach to version control and documentation that enables others
