Job Title: Full stack Web Software Engineer

Location: Bristol or UK Remote


Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to work with us to develop a cutting edge drone system for aerial inspections for renewable energy. The successful applicant will work alongside the engineering team to develop our roster of web products: a management dashboard, an internal data annotation tool, a drone flight setup and control app, internal backend tooling, and new unreleased products.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on an innovative autonomous drone application with a big impact in the renewable energy space.

The successful candidate will join a small, but highly capable team with great links into the industry and who are passionate about creating intelligent robotic solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Owning and developing one of the core product with support from the wider web team
  • Architecting, refactoring, and building modern, fast, and secure web apps using React
  • Maintaining and improving backend systems and databases on the AWS cloud
  • Collaborating with the Web Team Lead to define the direction of our products
  • Continuously working with the wider team to improve systems and processes whilst developing tooling to improve the development experience

Key Requirements

  • Track record of developing modern web apps
  • Strong core JavaScript programming skills
  • Strong React skills
  • Experience with event-driven design patterns
  • Backend API development on the AWS cloud: Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation
  • Someone who wants to grow with us and take on more responsibility


Desired Skills/Skills you can learn

  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Contribute to building and developing an inclusive and diverse working environment
  • Redux or state management experience with the Context API
  • Experience working with ROS JS
  • Mobile development experience or equivalent e.g. React Native, Cordova, Android (native)
  • Experience with modern testing methodologies and libraries such as BDD, Jest, Cypress, Storybook
  • Experience with web vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them: OWASP top 10
  • Strong knowledge of Database development tools: AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB
